Orthodontic treatment is prescribed for straightening crooked teeth, correcting improper bites, addressing jaw system development disorders, and for preventive purposes.
Orthodontic treatment is applied to both children and adult patients. A particularly important period to address and correct bite problems is between the ages of 7 and 13, when the best treatment results can typically be achieved.
In certain cases of diseases and conditions, for children under 18, when an orthodontist identifies disturbances in tooth development and eruption, dental and facial anomalies, as well as congenital facial and jaw anomalies and deformities, orthodontic plates and braces are covered by the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (PSDF).
CATALOG OF REIMBURSED ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES
Reimbursed orthodontic appliances come in two types: plates and braces.
Plates:
The base of the plate is made of special plastic. Metal hooks, springs, wires, and screws are attached to the base. The hooks secure the plate to the teeth, while the springs, wires, and screws shape the teeth into proper arches.
Braces:
This treatment method involves braces. A non-removable orthodontic appliance is attached to the surface of each tooth crown with special orthodontic cement and is worn throughout the entire orthodontic treatment period. The braces system consists of brackets, tubes, rings, wires, and additional components (springs, mini screws, elastics, buttons, etc.). Wires are attached to the brackets using metal or elastic ligatures, or special locks (self-ligating brackets). The additional components ensure safe correction of tooth positions, formation of skeletal support, and other treatment actions.
